Partnered with the Area Education Agency (AEA) of Iowa to refactor and redesign the frontend of their learning platform. Working directly with stakeholders, I transformed Figma designs into production-ready interfaces for students, course developers, and administrators. The project focused on both usability and accessibility, ensuring the system met modern standards while delivering a fresh user experience.


Key Contributions & Impacts:

  • Full Frontend Rebuild: Rebuilt pages and components using Livewire, Alpine.js, JavaScript, and Tailwind to modernize the UI.

  • Design Implementation: Translated stakeholder-approved Figma designs into responsive, functional pages tailored to each role (student, course developer, admin).

  • Accessibility Compliance: Integrated Axe DevTools into the workflow to scan pages and components for WCAG 2.1 compliance, ensuring accessibility for all users.

  • Component Library Updates: Refactored and extended reusable UI components to establish consistency across the platform.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Worked closely with AEA leadership to align design and functionality with organizational goals, improving adoption and usability.
