ABC of Iowa Job Board

Collaborated with another developer to build a job board platform for apprenticeships and entry-level roles in the construction trades. The application was built in Laravel with Volt (single-file Livewire components) and supported role-based dashboards for Admins, Job Posters, and Job Seekers. The project aimed to streamline trade hiring pipelines while providing visibility and access for workers entering the industry.

I worked across the stack to transform Figma designs, customer feedback, and internal ideas into production-ready features, ensuring the platform was both functional and user-friendly.

Key Contributions & Impacts:

• Role-Based Dashboards: Implemented dashboards via FilamentPHP tailored for each user type (Admin, Job Poster, Job Seeker), ensuring clear separation of functionality and streamlined user flows.

• Search & Discovery: Integrated Meilisearch with relational indexing, enabling fast, filterable, and sortable search for jobs, employers, and locations.

• UI Development: Built front-end experiences using Volt, Livewire, Alpine, and Tailwind, translating Figma prototypes into dynamic, responsive interfaces.

• Feature Delivery: Designed and delivered full-stack features from intake forms to listing displays, incorporating feedback loops from real users and stakeholders.

• Scalable Data Layer: Modeled and managed job posts, applications, and user data with PostgreSQL, ensuring efficient queries and support for future platform growth.
